Weekend News
James - Me and my sister and my dad make breakfast for my mom. We give her breakfast in bed. Mommy was so happy, she laugh. I play a game my whole family play it.
Alycia - I was at home with my daddy. I give mommy a card and she love it.
Rowan - I go to a playground. I give mommy some present cause it was mommy's day.
Hayden - I like that Devon had a new car. I sit in the middle it have a sun roof. I make mommy a card.
Reyn - I go to a restaurant for mummy's day and I get red pancakes. I make kitty cards and give them to my whole family. I make them with stickers and pictures.
Ekin - I play my toys. I didn't do bubble bath. I race around the play room and I find Carlito and his friends.
Ben - I went to Bubbie's beach house. First, I got a new stuffy. Then I went to a store and I go to dinner. We got mommy flowers and I give her the card I made.
Stephen - I play my brother.
Clarke - I make cookies with daddy. I make a card for mummy. I give mummy the card I make at school and she was surprise. I say Happy Mother's day.
Melanie - I play games with mommy. I went to the Please Touch Museum with mommy, when Ej was at mom-mom's. I went out to dinner for Mother's day. Mommy like the artwork I make for her. I went to Abington library. I got a Captain Underpants book. I also got Dog Man books.
Blaise - So, at Mother's day my cousin Normey come over and we eat breakfast together. We play video games. I give mummy card I make her and she say I love you.
Isabelle - First, I give mommy the card I made and she said thank you. I had dinner and uncle John was there. Daddy got me a unicorn it was a surprise.
Oz - Mummy so excited the card I make her. I go daddy and Ever and we buy cards for mommy. I make dinner with daddy then I brush my teeth and go to bed.
Phoenix - I give my mom a card for Mother's day. I make my mom breakfast. I give my mom a watch and a tablet.
Emma - I have to go dedicated a baby. I went to someone house and I play the clapping game but I didn't know how to play it so I peek. Then I play basketball. I give mommy picture I made at school and I give her more things cause it was Mother's day.
The Cardinals working on a journal entry titled, What is your favorite fruit and why?
In music class with Keisha, we practiced for our Assembly on Wednesday 5/11/22 in which the Cardinals, Sparrows and Catbirds classes will perform Owl Moon for Grades first through fourth. This work help friends to begin to get comfortable with being on stage for our Spring Program on 6/3/22. The Cardinals sang our hello song, Jambo and worked on preparing for our Spring Program.
Tuesday
Spanish class this week was a little different as a few friends have been bringing in Spanish books from home for Alicia to read to the class. Over the past few weeks, we had four books come in. And so today, Alicia took some time to come to our classroom and read two of the books that were brought in. Alicia plans to read the other books soon!!
After morning meeting, we had a special birthday snack of cupcakes and pretzels to celebrate Melanie's 5th birthday!! Melanie, thank you for sharing your birthday with us!
No rest time today, it was simply too nice of a day to be inside. The Cardinals ALL cheered as they were told we were not having rest time! Off to the Smith field on campus we went!!
Wednesday
The Cardinals performed this morning at the assembly. Some Cardinals were a little scared and others were okay but all the Cardinals made it on stage and did a fantastic job singing and doing the movements to the song Owl Moon! Cardinals, we are so proud of you all!! Great Job!!

Thursday
Choice time exploration
Today we took our learning outside as the Cardinals continued their work on letter recognition and letter sounds. We worked in small groups as friends wrote letters that were called out, made sounds to letters as letters were showed, hopped on letters as they were called and took turns reading pages of a book.
The Cardinals asked if they could have rest time outside today and so we did!! Ask your Cardinal what they liked about rest time outside?
