The Cardinals did a great job as we rehearsed for our lower school Winter Program. We practiced singing the songs Beehive, Animal Boogie and Bell Horses while doing the movements and singing.

Tuesday

Alicia continued to guide the Cardinals in learning the names of some of the many clothing we wear. Alicia read us a book called
Sparkle Boy. The book was about a boy who believed in himself and was confident wearing dresses because he liked them. The book talked about some of the many stereotypes in our world even to this today. We all have the right to believe in ourselves and most of all be happy. This week it was Reyn's turn to squeezed la vaca.

Back in the classroom, each Cardinal worked on their December self-portraits, PVC pipes with hot wheels, duplos and in the kitchen area. Friends took turns rotating in each of these four areas and worked together to came up with some very impressive creations.

Wednesday
In gym class with Josh and Lisa, the Cardinals engaged in an obstacle course. Friends tested their balancing skills by walking on narrow rectangular beams, circular beams, a long blue beam with the alphabet letters on it, and balance on stabilizer while walking. The Cardinals also worked on their jumping, skipping, galloping and hopping skills.

The Cardinals had so much fun in gym class!!

Thursday
Today our Cardinals bakers helped to make their own banana bread. Friends were very excited to help and so we added the ingredients by taking turns in groups. Friends creamed the butter and sugar, gently beat eggs, measured and added flour, baking soda and yogurt, peeled and mashed banana and finished by adding chocolate chips. We all got to stir the batter and then ate a couple chocolate chips! Then into the oven our banana batter went. After baking and cooling down, it was finally time for us to eat the banana bread we made. It was warm and yummy! Great baking Cardinals!!

After spending some time outside on this sunny but chilly day, friends headed off to art class. We continued our work with our homemade pompoms from last week. Today, Amanda told the Cardinals they were going to create a craft by using their pompoms, wire, and colored wooden beads all of different shapes and sizes. This was the second step in working with our homemade pompoms. Stay tune for our next steps.

Friday

Going to the library is always fun for the Cardinals, the fact that each friend gets to pick and check out their own book is such a highlight. The books are claimed by each Cardinal upon returning to our classroom as their own!

Ask your Cardinal to name some or all the ingredients we used to make our banana bread?

We hope you all had a great weekend!
