Monday

Weekend News

Ekin - I play with my dad and my mom. I play with Tristan my house. I take bubble bath and I rest.

Ben - I play freeze tag inside with my mom and dad and my brother. After I had a snack, then lunch, then dinner and then I went to bed.

Stephen - I watch ipad.

Melanie - I play baseball with EJ and I play a game with EJ. I made a strawberry smoothie with Mommy. I watch tv before dinner. I went to restaurant for dinner with mommy and EJ. I eat pasta and fish and meat with honey sauce.

Clarke - I was playing my grandma and my daddy and mommy. Yesterday, I decorate my Christmas tree. My friend Westin gave me some cookie and some presents for my Christmas tree. My baby brother is coming home.

Tristan - Daddy made cookies. We all went for walk and I get new truck.

Blaise - On Sunday, we decorate my Christmas tree and decorate my stockings.

Isabelle - I took pictures with Santa Clause and I told him what I want for Christmas. On Sunday I play with Callie. I watch Kid Danger in my basement. I did a mermaid bath boom the tub.

Oz - I go to New York City and daddy and I drive back home. I go on hayride with Phoenix. We got pretzel at the hayride and I saw lights and I saw Santa's workshop.

Phoenix - I go to Hayride with Oz and my family. I had hot chocolate and I see Santa Clause at his workshop making all toys. I had some s'mores and popcorn and I had a blanket.

Emma - I play with my mom. I make ginger bread cookies and ginger bread house with mommy and Ava. I went to church.

James - I went some where and I saw little trains. And at the place I saw Christmas decorations. Granny and Grandfather took me to that place but I don't know the name. I made banana bread at my house with my mom.

Alycia - I go to church and play my toys.

Rowan - So, me and my mommy and daddy go to the beach and after we drive back home. Me and my daddy play together after we play. We went to a Costco and get some stuff for dinner and lunch. Then we went to sleep and it was time for school. I want to see my friends.

Hayden - I ate oatmeal and I ride my daddy's truck. My mom give me hug and kiss.

Reyn - I was playing outside with mommy. I make chocolate chip cookies and I play my toys and I play with baby Jag.

Choice Time

How many Cardinals can fix on a chair before falling down while giggling!!

Keisha, met us at the music room door and told the Cardinals that today, we will be recording the songs and movements we have been learning. The Cardinals did a great job and at the end of class, Keisha told the Cardinals how proud she was of them and their singing for our Winter Program. Keisha said, "You all make my heart so happy!!"

Tuesday

Spanish class with Alicia included moment of silence, calendar work in Spanish before reading the book Room for a Little One. Alicia introduced us to a new puppet called Pancho. Pancho sang and danced. The Cardinals were very excited as Pancho performed for us. At the end of Spanish class each Cardinal that wanted to got to pet Pancho. We read a book called Buenos dias, Gatita that Melanie brought in last week but we did not have enough time to read then. Melanie's book tied in with what we have been leaning about in Spanish class with Alicia, clothing and colors. This week it was Rowan's turn to squeezed la vaca.

Wednesday

Today, Lower School students gather for Meeting for Worship in the auditorium. We started with silence, followed with Andrea reading the book called Change Sings, and finished with Keisha guiding us in singing some of our favorite songs.

In our last gym class for 2021, the Cardinals engaged in some of their favorite activities thus far in gym class with Josh and Lisa.

Thursday

Today was Winterfest at AFS, the Cardinals along with our entire community join together in celebration of the season of lights to celebrate all the cultures that made up our AFS community. EC and Kindergarten decorated the Christmas tree, first and second grade decorated the Hanukkah table and lit the candles, third and fourth grade decorated the Kwanzaa table. Other holidays that were acknowledge included Diwali, Epiphany, the New Year. The Cardinals each cut out and colored a heart ornament to hang on the Christmas tree!

In art class we continued our work with our home made pompoms. Amanda added a paper card to the part of our creation from last week. This week we added a picture of ourselves, different kinds of shapes and colored paper. The Cardinals all cheered as Amanda announced they were going to take home their art work!! The Cardinals took home art work that included their shape houses, clay projects and their pompom project from this half of the school year!

The Cardinals attending the watch party for our Winter Program and having a special snack provided by home and school! The Cardinals and all the lower school students did an amazing performances.

Today, we celebrated Hayden's 4th birthday. In honor of his birthday, Hayden brought in a special snack of donuts to share with his friends. Thank you Hayden for sharing your birthday with us!
