Alicia greeted us and we began class by tallying the ways the Cardinals were feeling this morning by writing the words No muy bien, Muy bien and Así - así on a white board. As each Cardinal shared how they were feeling, Alicia made tally marks and the Cardinals counted in Spanish. We continued counting until all the Cardinals had a turn to share. Alicia then read a book called Oliver Y el troll by Adam Stower brought in by Rowan a few weeks ago. This week it was Isabelle's turn to squeezed la vaca.
The Cardinals are looking and sounding amazing as we practiced on stage for our program this Friday 6/3/22. Ask your Cardinal how they feel about going on stage?
Wednesday
The Cardinals in meeting for worship with the entire lower school. How nice it was to be in worship together! Ask your Cardinal what they liked about having meeting for worship outside?
Thursday
Early this morning the Cardinals went to the auditorium to watch grades first through fourth practice for the Spring program!! We came back to our classroom and had snack outside. The question of the day was Do you like popsicles? All the Cardinals said yes and so we had popsicles outside as well! Ask your Cardinal what part of the older kids practice did they like?
Friday
Today we had many things on our class schedule for special fun. First, Isabelle brought in her baby chicks that she hatched at her house for us to see and gently touch! Thanks Isabelle and Ellie for sharing the cute chicks with us!
Today we celebrated Clarke's 5th birthday! She brought in brownies to share with her friends. Thank you, Clarke for sharing your birthday with us!
As we were getting ready to have fun outside, we saw a Cardinal bird out our back window. It flew away but the same one or another Cardinal bird came back. So we saw two Cardinal birds in less then 10 minutes!
Then it was finally time for us to go on stage and preform for our families. Great Jobs Cardinals!! The Cardinals really enjoyed eating pancakes outside.
After lunch and no rest time, Rowan's dad Jonny came in to talk to us about his job being a fire fighter! Jonny told us that he teaches adults and kids how to be safe if there is a fire and how to create a safe place away from the fire (outside) were everyone can be safe. Jonny told us about smoke detectors and how they work. We got to hear the noise a smoke detector makes!! We learned that staying close to the ground is the safe way to get outside if there is a fire. Jonny and the Cardinals crawled on the ground to practice. Then Jonny put on his fire jack, mask and hard hat for us to see. The Cardinal all got to try on all the fire fighter gear. Jonny also told the Cardinals that it's important to know your address in case there is a fire and you need to call 911. Jonny brought fire safety coloring books for each Cardinals. This was such important and amazing information. Thank you Jonny! Thank you Rowan for sharing your dad with us!!
