Weekend News
Oz - We open the door and it was little dog with a leash and we got some food for the dog. The dog is at my house and he live with us. We call him Ellie. We did a Easter egg hunt and I got 100 eggs. I got some candy and I eat some. My sister did too.
Phoenix - I went to the beach and it wasn't even sunny. I went to the Easter egg hunt and me and my brother got 13 eggs and inside was money and candy. I got a bag of Easter stuff.
Emma - I play my mom and dad and my baby. I watch my tv. I got sparkly bunny ears and candy.
James - I went on the train and see the Easter bunny. He was on the train and the conductor gave candy and the other guy play music. I went to Nanny's house and I went on Easter egg hunt. I got toys and candy and I got to the beach.
Alycia - I went to church when it was Easter. I dye some eggs with my grandma DJ. I got Easter basket and candy.
Rowan - I went to the White House and I did the egg roll and it was so sticky. I got a new stuffy and candy.
Hayden - I went to New York with my family. I saw Time Square and I saw the Statue of Liberty. I was at a hotel in New York.
Reyn - I went to my Gigi's house and she give me a Easter basket and it had candy and a tara and a watch. I save it until my mommy say I can have it. I got a pretend white dancing doll. I play with baby Jag and I watch tv.
Ekin - I play my toys. The bunny gave candy. My Easter basket was outside. I eat some candy, it was Easter candy.
Ben - I play with my mom and dad and then I went in my car and went on the train and I go to the Harry Potter exhibit. I had passover at Grammy and Poppy's and I saw aunt Sarah and uncle Adam and Ryan and Ava and Charlie. Charlie is a baby and he getting teeth.
Clarke - Cooper and Blaise came to my house and then we go to the Easter egg hunt. I got 14 eggs and I got the golden one. I was jumping on the couch and playing with Grant.
Tristan - I went to the park and I play with my sister. I also play with the basketball at the big kid playground.
Melanie - I watch Ej practice baseball at Central Park. I did passover at aunt Robin's house. We had lots of people at aunt Robin's house. Ej found the Matzah first and I got a piece.
Blaise - I did Easter and Easter egg hunt. When I got home I eat some candy. I went to see Monster Jam show last night and my cousin was there. You know, the Monster truck was doing lot of tricks and it so fun and cool.
Isabelle - I went on a Easter hunt and I had Easter dinner. I went to the Mall and I saw Rowan and I took pictures with the Easter Bunny. I got a Unicorn Easter basket and I got candy and lots of eggs in the front yard.
In music class, Keisha shared that we were going to be learning new material for our Spring Program such as Freight Train, Ponies, Jack-in the Box, Looby Loo and Owl Moon. We stared practicing some of the songs Freight Train, Ponies and Looby Loo. Friends took part in choosing where we stopped on the train such as New York, South, North, Philadelphia, Toy Store, Disney Land, the pet store and the playground. We also worked on movements that goes with the songs. Great start Cardinals!!

Tuesday
After our moment of silence, our bodies were settled and ready for Spanish class. Alicia went over the calendar in Spanish as the Cardinals joined in saying the day, date, month, the year and how many days we have been in school, just like we do in our classroom. Alicia introduced some names for toys in Spanish. She then reviewed the meaning of "gender stereotype" and said that there is also "toy stereotype". As a follow up to the conversation, she read the book "Except When They Don't" by Sharon Purtill. Ask your Cardinal what the book was about? This week it was Clarke's turn to squeezed la vaca!
The Cardinals working in small groups on their math skills taking turns in, figuring out which number comes next and what does it look like. We worked on counting the dots to figure out what number we were looking for. Friends also colors dinosaurs by following the number order.

Wednesday
The Cardinals had meeting for Worship in the Meetinghouse, followed by running on one of the fields on campus before heading to gym class. Friends were very excited for gym class and worked in pairs on team building skills such as throwing and catching balls, balancing and focus.
Thursday
The Cardinals engaged in interactive dramatic play in our kitchen area, houses, and castle. Some friends chose to dress up in tutus and with bags. Friends were pretending to be working at a restaurant, taking orders, and cooking. Friends also played family and took care of the baby dolls. The Cardinals explored with phones and used the pretend cameras to take photo shoots! Ask your Cardinal what they did during dramatic play?
Friday
Today is EARTH DAY!! The Cardinals began the day by spending some time outside enjoying the beautiful weather. We had class conversation about how we can take care of our Earth. Here is what friends had to say:
Ekin - hug the Earth
Blaise -pick trash up
Ben - we need to be nice to the Earth
Reyn - pick up trash so the earth does not get sick
Melanie - be nice to the Earth
James - clean the Earth
Alycia -no littering
Hayden - keep the earth from getting sick
Emma - pick up trash to keep the animals healthy
Clarke - pick up the trash so the animals don't eat it
Isabelle- be kind to the earth by not leaving trash and don't let the animals eat the trash
Rowan -put more trash cans out for more people
Phoenix - be nice to each other
Oz - save the city and be a dump truck to pick up trash
Tristan- pick up the trash so there is no gross stuff on the Earth
In Library class, Ashanti read us Farfallina & Marcel followed by friends choosing their very own books to bring back to our classroom. Ask your Cardinal which book they chose?
The Cardinals did not have rest time today, instead we ran and played games out on the field after lunch!
The Cardinals took joy in helping to create a birthday card for Sofie. Who will be celebrating her birthday tomorrow!! We also sang and ate popsicles to start Sofie's celebrations!
